Saraj
SarajThe most impressive building in the town is the “Saraj’ house, built in the beginning of the 20th century. According to a legend, there were two friends, one of whom went to study in Paris, while the other one remained in Resen. Some time later, a postcard arrived from the friend who went to Paris, showing a building like the “Saraj” of today. When the local Turkish “beg” saw the postcard, he said “this town shall have such a building and I shall live in it.” The building was made of marble and hewed stone. Today the “Saraj” hosts the town museum.
