"A Flea in Her Ear" Seems to Also Head Towards Eternity at Macedonian National Theatre 22 Feb 2007
Judging by responses of the audience after the premiere performance of “A Flea in Her Ear” on Tuesday (20th February), this popular Feydeau’s text seems to be proving once again its longevity. Set on the stage of MNT, Feydeau’s text, which is the fifth most set play in the world, according to statistics, proved to be one of the greatest hits of all times with us as well. “A Flea...” set by Dimitrie Osmanli at the Drama Theatre was being played for 18 years. Its premiere was on 23rd March 1974 and the last performance on 15th January 1992. The play was performed 333 times, only two times as few as the current record keeper as the most watched play in Macedonia, “Solunski patrdii” (Thessalonica Mockeries), directed by Kole Angelovski. Having had 335 performances, this play is still being played at the Drama Theatre. It is left to be seen whether “A Flea in Her Ear” repeats its former success, now with the Macedonian National Theatre.
