According to a Macedonian Government ruling on the basis of Article 30, Paragraph 1 of the Hunting Law, there is a total of 253 hunting grounds, 108 of which for large game and 145 for small game.

High-Level Tourist Hunting Venues
The state runs four hunting grounds and charges for the hunt. These are high-level tourist hunting venues for special categories of hunters and they are under the Macedonian Government's management.

Polaki – state-owned hunting ground for large game in Kocani, covers an area of 15,250 hectares, run by Macedonian Forestry state-owned company in Skopje . It is located near Kocani, 120km away from Petrovec Airport . Game hunted includes deer, fallow deer, and mouflons. The ground's jeep paths and food stations enable a fast and safe hunt. The gorgeous scenery, abundance in game, and good organization make for a successful hunt.

Jasen – state-owned hunting ground for large game near Skopje , covers an area of 24,000 hectares, run by National Parks and Hunts from Skopje .

Lesnica – state-owned hunting ground for training near Tetovo, covers an area of 11,930 hectares, run by Macedonian Forestry state-owned company in Skopje .

The Lesnica hunting ground is located in the beautiful slopes of Mt. Sar at a 50-km distance from Skopje and it offers hunters an unforgettable experience. The mountainous terrain and the breathtaking scenery create good conditions for the existence of wild goats, from which highly valuable trophies can be obtained. River flows and mountain terraces allow hunters to gaze at game from close range. There are excellent conditions for photo safari, too. Bear hunting is a special attraction and requires a special permit. The chase of wolves, foxes, and martens adds to the hunter's pleasure. The most distant sites can be accessed on foot or horse.

Hunters' accommodation is available in a hunters' motel amid the hunting grounds and Jelak Hotel, which is located in the Popova Sapka ski resort.

Milisin – 20km away from Gevgelija, covers an area of 9,980 hectares. The area's favorable climate has created conditions for the presence of wild boars, most of which are found in this hunting ground. A specific feature of this terrain is the hunters' ability to experience nature's variety and abundance under the effects of the Mediterranean and continental climates. Abundance in game and the colorful nature accompany hunters throughout the hunt and enable an unforgettable experience. Guests' accommodation is available in a luxurious hunter house.

Hunting Venues for Sports and Recreation
Macedonia 's hunting grounds are leased to 63 hunting associations throughout the country, which protect the game and are intended for local and foreign hunters' recreational hunting. Annual membership fee is 30-40 euros.
