There are about 45 000 Serbs and Montenegrins living in the Republic of Macedonia today. They mainly inhabit the northern part of the country. They publish magazine of their own “Pogled” and numerous periodicals in Serbian are delivered in Macedonia daily. There isn’t private Serbian TV channelin Macedonia. As part of the Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) programme, however, an informative block of news in Serbian is broadcast twice a week. It is rated as good.
A considerable number of Serbian writers and artists work in Macedonia. Most authors write in Macedonian. One of the most eminent Serbian writers in Macedonia is Vlada Urosevic who writes both in Serbian and Macedonian.
